Modern American restaurant in London

"Sunday in Brooklyn" in London, England, is a modern American restaurant that has its roots in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City, and has now made its mark in the British capital. It is part of a small but growing chain and has established itself in London with two locations – one in Notting Hill and another in Marylebone. The restaurant's concept revolves around the idea of a relaxed Sunday, inspired by founders Jaime Young, Todd Enany, and Adam Landsman, who wanted to bring their love for American cuisine and communal dining to the British culinary scene. The decor is stylish and inviting, featuring a mix of rustic elements and modern design – such as white walls, indoor palms, and large windows that let in plenty of light. The locations particularly offer a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a New York brunch spot, with a touch of London sophistication.

Sunday brunch in Notting Hill

Culinarily, "Sunday in Brooklyn" stands for a progressive interpretation of American classics, refined with seasonal ingredients and a focus on sustainability. A standout dish is the "Sunday Pancakes," served with a rich hazelnut-maple praline sauce – a dish that impresses with both its fluffy texture and intense flavor, making it a crowd favorite, especially at brunch. Another popular item is the "Crispy Chicken Sandwich," enhanced with spicy honey, offering a perfect balance of crunchiness and spice. For those seeking something lighter, the "Market Salad" is a fresh option that features crisp vegetables and creative garnishes. The kitchen places emphasis on high-quality ingredients and careful preparation, which is reflected in the presentation and taste. For dessert, the "Bananas Foster Ice Cream" tempts with a sweet homage to classic American desserts, served with caramelized bananas and creamy ice cream.

The drink offerings are another highlight of the restaurant. The bar serves a variety of cocktails, including the "Honeybear," a fruity drink with a hint of honey that perfectly captures the relaxed vibe. The wine selection is also carefully curated, providing suitable pairings for the dishes, while non-alcoholic options like house-made lemonades or mocktails are also available. "Sunday in Brooklyn" is an all-day spot that covers everything from breakfast to brunch to dinner, making it adaptable for different times of day and occasions – whether it's a cozy weekend breakfast or a dinner with friends.

The atmosphere is lively and trendy, with the restaurant being especially popular among brunch enthusiasts on weekends. The service is often described as friendly and professional, with a team dedicated to providing guests with a pleasant experience – such as small gestures like a birthday sorbet with a candle. However, during peak times, there can be wait times, and some find the noise level to be somewhat bothersome. The cleanliness and stylish design, including Instagram-worthy details like glass staircases, make it a place that impresses not only culinarily but also aesthetically.

The New York steak sandwich flavours were great but it would be more satisfying with a bit more meat. The fluffy pancakes were delicious, didn’t quite feel like pancakes but a delicious, sweet but not too sweet, dense plate of happiness! Review Bear Paw of approval!

Sunday in Brooklyn is my favourite brunch spot. I took my husband there for his birthday and he loved the food and drinks. My favourite dishes are the pancakes, chicken burger, caesar salad and cheesecake! It’s a lovely venue with a great ambiance. You won’t be disappointed
